Building communities and systems for change has been a constant thread in my career. Founding initiatives that connect geoscientists worldwide, driving diversity and equity efforts across Swiss geoscience, and opening up conversations about science, career, and community. Below is a summary of where I have been involved, past and present.
Energy Transition Talk Series
Swiss Geoscience Conference SGM & CLIMACT
Convener on the annual session Deep geothermal energy, CO2-storage and energy-related exploration of the subsurface at the SGM conference. Also convened a talk series part of CLIMACT bringing together voices to discuss geoscience’s role in Switzerland’s energy transition to a general audience.

Committee Member
I sit on my faculty’s Equality Commission, where I helped co-develop our 2025–2028 action plan, including a new postdoc mentorship programme.
Ore Deposits Hub
Co-founder, 2020–2024
Co-founded in 2020 when the pandemic cancelled conferences overnight, Ore Deposits Hub has grown into the field’s second-largest LinkedIn presence — hosting more than 100 invited speakers for a global audience of over 7,000 economic geologists and mineral explorers.

Practices to People Workshop
Co-organiser & Chair, 2022
In April 2022 I co-organised with People in Mining, and chaired Practices to People: An Introduction to Community Communication for Exploration Geologists. A two-day workshop bringing together 60 students, early-career geologists, and senior professionals from over 20 countries to build practical community-engagement skills for the exploration and mining industry. I moderated a panel of ten invited speakers and developed a two-hour, case-study-based exercise for hands-on learning, working alongside co-organisers People and Mining and Social Practice Forum. Sponsorship raised through the workshop also funded $1,000 in PPE and gem equipment donated to women artisanal miners through the Moyo Gems initiative.
