“Development of an Integrated Geothermal Risk Assessment (INGRA) Tool, Applied as a Case Study in the Canton of Vaud” — MSc thesis supervised 2025–2026, carried out at the University of Lausanne with an internship at the Direction générale de l’environnement (DGE), État de Vaud.

A new semi-quantitative risk-assessment framework (INGRA) for deep geothermal projects in the Canton of Vaud, combining geological hazards, environmental vulnerability, monitoring capacity, and public perception into one transparent, reproducible scoring system. Calibrated against a case study geothermal exploration project in the Canton of Vaud — including a social acceptance survey of Vaud residents, which found 62% supportive of geothermal development, primarily driven by trust and perceived contribution to energy security — the framework shows how social concern and monitoring/operational factors can meaningfully shift risk classifications, and offers a transferable tool for risk assessment and communication in geothermal development, in Switzerland and potentially beyond.
